Principal’s Report:
-
The
Terra Nova Tests for Grades 3, 5, & 7 have started this week. All
seems to be going well.
-
I am
in the process of doing “formal” teacher evaluations for K-8 and the
specials.
-
Registration packets for returning families will go home with the
Wednesday Notes per family. The registration forms need to be
returned by Friday, March 19th.
-
Spring
Break begins on Friday, March 19, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. School resumes
on Monday, March 29, 2010.
-
As of
today, we have 26 Kindergarten students, which includes 10 school
families. Three new first graders and two fourth graders for the
next school year. I have given several tours of the school in the
last three weeks for Grades 2, 3, 5 & 7. Hopefully, they will
register soon.
-
The
PTC Spring fundraiser Easter Candy Sale info from World’s Finest
will go home with Wednesday Notes and due back by March 15th.
The price across the board is $5 per item. The profit is for the
Rowland Reading Program for K-2 (a phonics/language arts based
concept).
-
The
Trivia Night was a great success with 15 tables of 10 or more. A
profit of over $3,500 was brought in that night.
Pastor’s Report:
-
Congratulations on Trivia
Night. Next time make an announcement at the church.
-
Pray for St. John. On
Thursday and Friday, a selection will be made for the new priest.
-
On June 12th,
there will be a farewell mass at 4:30 for Father Bob along with a
coffee and cake after the masses on the 13th.
-
On June 6th at
the 11:00 mass will be Deacon Joe Micah’s first mass.

Trivia
Night:
-
A profit of $3,500 was
made that night.
-
Consider a Silent Auction
that starts prior to Trivia Night and closes on that night. This
will help to raise additional monies.
-
One participant at the
event suggested that a round be given for an additional $100.00.
It’s like a Mulligan, where participants pay $10 each round to get
one answer. In the case of the suggestion, participants would pay
$100 to get all 10 answers in one round. The MC would pick the
round at random (round 10 excluded) before the event starts and
people can chose to pay if they want.

Update
on Budget:
-
The cost to educate a
child at SJE is $5,510. We are no where near that figure.
-
There was a 4% increase
in tuition for the 2010-2011 School Year.
-
Tuition increases have
never covered salary increases. Need ideas to raise money to cover
costs.
-
Possibly make some
fundraiser events mandatory.
-
Inform school parents
that their employers might have matching donor gifts.
Miscellaneous:
-
Colleen will be meeting
with the Bartlett Chamber of Commerce to discuss membership.
-
Bartlett Raiders are
having registration soon. Do we have SJE pamphlets to give out?
-
St. Mary in West Chicago
is closing. Father Bob suggested that Sister Zachary contact their
principal to get mailing list. Possibly offer parishioner rate for
1st year.
Adjourned: 8:55 p.m.
