ABOUT THE TEACHER

Hi!  I'm Pat Carlson.  I have been teaching at St. John's for thirty-three years.  I love teaching first grade and every year is a new challenge.  It is so satisfying to see the children learn to read.  I enjoy teaching Math too, and have developed many math activities to help make math fun and meaningful.

I have a son and a daughter and three grandchildren.  I love being with them.

I also teach English as a Second Language at Elgin Community College.  I have been teaching there for 17 years.  I guess I like long term assignments.

I enjoy cooking, baking and gardening.  My husband and I both like to travel.
