ABOUT THE TEACHER
Hello everyone! My name is Tami
Kisereu and I'm so very excited to join St. John the Evangelist as the new
Computer Lab teacher. My husband and I are the parents of four great sons
- Christian, Nick, Brandon, and Adrian - the first three of who are former
students of SJE. Our family worshipped at St. John the Evangelist from
1996 through 2002 when we moved to St. Charles. I, myself, am a former
student of SJE way back in 1972 until 1974 when my family moved from Hanover
Park to Roselle. I am thrilled to be coming home.
I graduated from Northern Illinois University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in English with teacher's certification and then student taught in Geneva Middle School South where I worked with some of the top educators in the state. I absolutely adore teaching children of all ages and find something remarkable and unique in all of my students regardless of their grade level.
We have many exciting new activities and projects planned for this year! We will be diving into age appropriate "touch typing" - typing without looking at the keyboard! Once we're off and running, we will begin some very special projects and activities designed to familiarize students to the importance of future technology. We will begin using some of the latest word processing, data management, and presentation software currently available. With a future dictated by technological fluency, I feel it is essential to help my students become comfortable, as well as cautious, with using technology as valuable life skills.
I just can't wait to meet all my great students and look forward to meeting all their families. We are all partners in the students' educational success and I'm thrilled about the fun year ahead!
